Caroline M. Kaschinske

PORTAGE  --  Caroline M. Kaschinske, age 87, of Portage died on Monday, April 6, 2015, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

Caroline was born on June 4, 1927 in Portage, the daughter of Arthur and Irma (Mullens) Wendt. She married Robert Kaschinske on August 30, 1946, who preceded her in death on April 30, 2014. Caroline was an active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many.

She is survived by her children,  Kathy (Steve) Page, of Nokomis, FL, Sally (Larry) Heil, of Venice, FL, Bonnie Kaschinske, of Madison, and Tim (Tina) Kaschinske, of Hartland; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Lohwater, Maryland and Yvonne (Randal) Manthey, Oxford;  numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage with Rev. Kurt Klingbeil officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the church.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Fund.
