Robert E. Kerl

PORTAGE – Robert E. Kerl, age 81, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015, at Divine Savior Healthcare hospital in Portage, with his family at his side.

Robert was born on March 8, 1934 in Janesville, the son of Walter and Elenore (Kremmer) Kerl.  Robert served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was married to Adeline Schendel on January 30, 1960 in Janesville.  She preceded him in death in 2004. Robert had worked at Penda, and Jenkins Motors, and was also a meat cutter for 30 years.  He loved hunting, fishing, and trapping.  He also enjoyed all sports, especially NASCAR.   

Robert is survived by his children, Thomas (Connie) Kerl, Sr., of Portage, and Tamara (James) Cebery, of Oxford; his grandchildren, Thomas Kerl, Jr, Joshua (Ashley) Kerl, and Cassandra (Spencer Tracy) Kerl, all of Portage,  Jenaca Cebery, and Jacob Cebery, both of Oxford; his great-grandchildren, Desiray, Mia and Analise; his step great-grandchild, Everest;  his brother, Don Kerl, of Janesville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Adeline, his son, Timothy, in 1990, his brothers, Walter and Harry, and his sister, Marie.
