June A. Ozga

BRIGGSVILLE  --  June A. Ozga, age 83, of Briggsville, passed away at her home on Thursday, September 24, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

June was born on June 13, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Jacob and Mollie (Grasmick) Moore.  She married Joseph Ozga on July 11, 1953 in Chicago. June was a very active member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Briggsville and an officer of the Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to garden and care for her cats.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph;  her children, Dawn (Richard) Braun, Lincolnshire, IL, Joseph D. Ozga, Beach Park, IL, Denise (Blair) Schodowski, Alpharetta, GA, and James (Lauren) Ozga, Libertyville, IL; her grandchildren, Joseph Ozga, Tyler Ozga, Austin Ozga, Ryan Ozga, Kelsey (Sebastian) Afonso, Jacob Schodowski and Sandra Schodowski; and her sister Shirley Schmeltzer, Chicago.  June is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Deborah Lynn Ozga; her brothers-in-law, John Schmeltzer, LeRoy Ozga; and her sister-in-law, Lorraine Brezinski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl presiding. Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
