Charlene J. Rohr

PORTAGE  --    Charlene J. Rohr, age 69, of Portage, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.  

Charlene was born on June 20, 1946, in Cheboygan, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Marion (Rose) McLaughlin.  She married Henry Rohr on April 10, 1965 in Cheboygan.  She had been employed as the assistant manager at the Columbia County Humane Society when it first opened, she later worked at Interstate Auto Auction, and retired from Walmart after 25 years.  Charlene enjoyed all kinds of animals and volunteered at the animal shelter.         

She is survived by her husband, Henry, of Portage; her children, Thomas Rohr, of Wisconsin Dells, and Sherry Rohr, of Baraboo; her grandchildren, Derek Rohr, and Amber Bloss, her sisters, Helen Simpson and Sandra Phillips, both of Cheboygan, Michigan, and Sharon Pattillo, of Conroe, Texas, other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, John, Melvin, and Howard McLaughlin, and her sister, Violet Baij.        

At Charlene’s request there will be no services.
