Steven M. Sletten

PORTAGE  --    Steven M. Sletten, age 55, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 at his home in Portage.

Steven was born on November 19, 1959 in Viroqua, the son of Claire and Ramona (Pierce) Sletten. He married Colleen Riley on July 9, 1983.  Steven coached hockey for 15 years. He was a handyman and could fix anything;  he especially liked working on cars. He loved Nascar, the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. He was quite the jokester, always harassing his family and friends.  Steven worked at Brakebush.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen, his sons, Steven (Samantha) Sletten, Mike (Fiance`, Nicole Jenkins) Sletten, and Timothy Sletten; grandchild, River Makenzie Sletten; step-brothers and sisters, Grace Ebert, Paul (Toni) Ebert, Lois (John) Slepicka and Ralph Ebert;  mother-in-law, Pat Riley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike Riley, Dan (Jan) Riley, Shannon (Sue) Riley and Kelly (Tom) Staveness; uncle, Larry (Sally) Sletten; aunts, Bonnie Lockman, and Ilen (Jerry) Wilkinson;  other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, David Sletten, his step-father, Gus Ebert, his father-in-law, DeWayne Riley and his sister-in-law, Susan Riley.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.  Inurnment will be private.
