Loretta Smith

PORTAGE  --  Loretta Smith, age 51, of Portage, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena.

Loretta was born on April 11, 1964 in Colorado, the daughter of Vernon and Margaret (Williams) Hawley.  She had worked at Penda Corp. for many years.  Loretta enjoyed gardening, canning, puzzles, and being outdoors when she could.  She had a love for animals, especially her cats.

She is survived by her son, Luke (Haylie Wolf) Smith, Sun Prairie;  her grandson, Tristan Smith;  her brothers and sisters, Lori Tonn, Markesan, Leonard (Carol) Hawley, North Dakota, Lynn (Rich) Weatherwax, Rio, Lisa (John) Schey, Neilsville, and LeRoy (Tami) Hawley, Columbus;  other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon “Bud” Hawley and Margaret Hawley.

A Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Pauquette Park in Portage.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
