Warren D. Thiessen

WYOCENA  --  Warren D. Thiessen, age 89, of Wyocena, died on Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena.

Warren was born on July 28, 1925 in Lowville Township the son of George and Alma (Erickson) Thiessen. He was married to Violet Kreier, who preceded him in death in 2008. He served his country in World War II in the Navy. Warren owned and operated the Thiessen Trucking and was a member of the Poynette American Legion and the Elks Club.

 He is survived by his children, Sharron Wells, Poynette, and Barron (Sharon) Thiessen, Denver, North Carolina; grandchildren, Tim (Terri) Wells, Madison, Kitzi (Tony) Muniz, Pardeeville, Mark Thiessen, Poynette and Andrew Thiessen, Denver, North Carolina;  great-grandchildren, Orion, Amerika, Timothy, Jr., Kassandra, Christian, Tyler and Brett; brother, Clayton (Nancy) Thiessen, Atlanta, Georgia; former sister-in-law, Nelly Thiessen, Neshkoro; many friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Violet, son-in-law, Bernie Wells, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington with Rev. Scott Schwertfeger officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Poynette Area Veteran’s Honor Guard.  Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette is assisting the family.
