Elizabeth "Diane" Van Epps

PORTAGE/LARGO, FL  --  Elizabeth “Diane” Van Epps, age 63, of Largo, Florida, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Van Epps family home in Portage. 

Diane was born on August 24, 1952, in Atlanta Georgia, the daughter of Charles and Catherine (Van Wyck) King.  She served her country in the United States Navy.  Diane married Jeffrey L. Van Epps on February 14, 1986, in Florida.  She worked for Honeywell, Paradyne, and the Salvation Army before retiring to take care of her grandchildren.  Diane taught cooking classes having obtained a Culinary Certificate.  She loved to travel and take cruises.      

She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Van Epps, of Largo, FL; her children, Justin “Braden” and daughter-in-love, Katie Smith, of Land O’ Lakes, FL and Catherine Le’Ane Van Epps and son-in-love, Jimmy Lee Chambers, Jr., of Largo, FL; her mother, Catherine King, of Jackson, GA; her grandchildren, Kara Elizabeth Smith, Jerett “Brody” Smith, Kayden Ella Smith and “L.J.” Jimmy Lee Chambers III; her brother, Randy M. King, of Jackson, GA; her sister, Sandy and brother-in-love, Larry Nelms, of Griffin, GA, other relatives and many dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her father, Charles King on July 23, 1996.

A Celebration of Diane’s Life will be held at a later date.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
