Frances J. Vangsnes

POYNETTE / FITCHBURG  --  Frances J. Vangsnes, age 94, of Poynette, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg.   

Frances was born on October 31, 1920, in Morrisonville, the daughter of Julius and Florence (Lee) Brue. She married Clark Vangsnes on December 19, 1959 at Christ Lutheran Church in DeForest.  He preceded her in death on July 9, 1991.  Frances taught for almost 30 years.  She was a member of Beth-El Lutheran Church in Poynette.      

She is survived by her son, Eric Vangsnes, of Poynette; her sisters, Margaret Nelson, of Prairie du Sac, Elizabeth Borde, of Rio, and Constance Nelson, of DeForest; her brother-in-law, Philip Vangsnes of Poynette, other relatives and many friends. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clark, and her brothers, Kenneth, Nils and Donald.            

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Beth-El Lutheran Church in Poynette, with Fr. Stephen Kurth presiding.  Inurnment will be private. The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or Beth-El Lutheran Church in Poynette.
