Larry Berndt

Township of Dekorra  --  Larry Berndt, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, June  8, 2016, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg.

He was born on May 18, 1947, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, the son of Alfred and Eleanor (Nelson) Berndt. Larry proudly served his country in the 11th Airborne Cavalry of the U.S. Army.   

He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Michael Erdman and Erich Erdman, both of Melrose Park, Illinois, Matthias Berndt, Katrin Berndt, Tristan Berndt, all of Sweden, Max Golembo and Taylor Golembo, both of Vernon Hills, Illinois; sister, Peggy Erdman of Melrose Park, Illinois; brothers, Kurt (Anne) Berndt of Sweden, and Kim (Clark) Golembo of Vernon Hills, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patricia Mladic, and ex-wife Nancy Berndt.

Inurnment will be at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
