Marvin E. Bulgrin

PORTAGE  --  Marvin E. Bulgrin, age 73, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Parkinson’s and cancer, on Friday, September 9, 2016, at Hamilton Park Place Assisted Living in Portage.

Marvin was born on September 19, 1942 in Portage, the son of Melvin and Mildred (Kabele) Bulgrin.  He was a lifelong resident of Caledonia Township.  He served his country in the National Guard for six years. Marvin had been employed at Sauk County Co-op for 30 plus years, managing the fertilizer plant.  In his retirement he enjoyed long visits with family and friends, gardening and especially his flowers.   

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Harold Bulgrin and his special friend, Bernice Denzer, Betty Tessmann, Donald (Sharon) Bulgrin, Marilyn (Val) McReath, Robert (Candace) Bulgrin, and Russell Bulgrin, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law, William Tessmann, and his infant nephew, Joseph Marvin Bulgrin.    

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with Rev. Greg Hovland officiating.  Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Parkinson Association, 2819 W. Highland Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53208 or the American Cancer Society, 8317 Elderberry Rd., Madison, WI 53717.

Family and friends were very important to Marvin and he will be greatly missed.
