Obituaries

PORTAGE  -- Sharon Lee Churchill, age 72, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016, at Tivoli in Portage.

Sharon was born on December 8, 1943, in Portage, Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Esther (Price) Kluge. She attended Portage Elementary, Middle and High School. Sharon married Lyle Frederick Churchill on October 7, 1961 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Portage. She was a homemaker as well as a factory worker, upholsterer, clerk and seamstress, working at the Portage Hosiery, Ben Franklin, and J. C. Penney.     

Sharon is survived by her husband, her children, Brenda Lee Bond, Brian Douglas Churchill, Gregory Carmen Churchill; son-in-law, James F. Bond; daughter-in-law, Trisha Churchill; grandchildren, Jennifer Schmiege, Ryan Schmiege, Travis Schmiege, Kati Schmiege, Kelly Tedrick, Christopher Bond, Hannah Churchill, Jennifer Hoff, Brittany Spaude, Alex Taylor; sisters, Georgia Kluge and family, Debbie (Gary) Petersen and family; brothers, Donald (Patricia) Kluge and family, Douglas Kluge; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.  

Visitation will be held at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage on Saturday, July 30, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Chaplain Gloria Stubitsch officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Tivoli, Divine Savior Healthcare and Agrace Hospice for their care and support.
