Annamae Kassner

PORTAGE/TOWNSHIP OF LEWISTON -- Annamae Kassner, formerly of the township of Lewiston, age 90, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Tivoli in Portage, in the presence of her loving family.

Annamae was born on November 13, 1925, at Big Spring on the family farm, where she was raised, the daughter of Alfred and Odessa Ebert. She married William F. Kassner in Portage on October 12, 1947. She had worked at Badger Ordinance in Baraboo and in the Meat Departments at Kroger’s, Eagle, and John’s Super Valu, all of Portage.

Annamae is survived by her daughter, Mary (Curt) Summers; her son, Douglas Kassner; daughter-in-law, Pam Kassner, all of the township of Lewiston; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Leona Ginther, Rosemarie Hauser and Elaine McFarlane; her brother, Paul Ebert; brother-in-law, Carlton (Bonnie) Kassner; her sister-in-law, Alberta Schultz; a special niece, Donna (George) Stewart; and her friend, Marge Ellis. She is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Annamae was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William, on December 18, 2009; her daughter, Diane (Kassner) Milner; her son, Dennis Kassner and her brother, Robert Ebert.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Portage with Rev. Susan Oeffler officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow the service at the Briggsville American Legion Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pink Ribbon Angels, in care of the family.

The family thanks the staff at Tivoli and Agrace Hospice for their compassion and care.
