Dale D. Kline

Sturgis, MI/Portage  -- Dale D. Kline, age 85, passed away on June 4, 2016, at Columbia County Healthcare Center in Wyocena, surrounded by his loving family.

Dale was born on July 1, 1930, in Burr Oak, Michigan, the son of Leo and Clara (Kaas) Kline. He married Donna (Shaw) Kline at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak, Michigan, on August 28, 1949. Prior to retirement, Dale worked for many years as a tool and die maker. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and was an avid hunter. One of Dale’s favorite things in his life was his involvement with short-horned cattle and his activities with the Shorthorn Association.

Dale is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Walter (Becky) Kline of Midland, Michigan, and Myra (Mark) Bennett of Portage; grandchildren, Kelli Kline, Kristi (Aaron) Whiting, Katherine (Taylor) Colliver, Daniel Bennett, James Bennett; great-grandchildren, Grayson Kline, Olivia Whiting, Allie Whiting and Anna-Grace Colliver. He was preceded in death by an infant son, George Allen Kline; and brothers and sisters, Merle Kline, Lee Kline, Leota Krontz and Neva Wolf.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 5:00 p.m., at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage with Rev. David Hankins officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak, Michigan.
