William E. "Bill" Thiele

ARLINGTON  -- William E. “Bill” Thiele of the Town of Leeds, age 59, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at UW Hospital in Madison.

Bill was born on October 9, 1956, in Portage, the son of Harland and Beverly (Martin) Thiele. He attended Arlington Grade School and graduated from Poynette High School. After graduating from Madison Area Technical College, Bill decided to farm with his father and grandfather.

Bill is survived by his mother, Beverly; sister, Marlene Tischer of Portage; nephew, Nate (Jen) Tischer of Poynette; niece, Gretchen Tischer of Blue Mounds; great-niece, Staci Tischer-Ellis of Janesville; great-nephew, Sean Tischer of Blue Mounds; very special friends, Josh Stewart and Hunter Rauls; and best buddy, “Jack”. Bill was preceded in death by his father, maternal and paternal grandparents.  

William requested there be no services.

Bill loved the land and the Arlington prairie. He was proud to be a third generation farmer. He lived and died with that love in his heart.

The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
