Denise Rena “Bulldog” (nee Shaw) Weishoff

PORTAGE  --  Denise Rena “Bulldog” (nee Shaw) Weishoff, age 60, passed away on May 18, 2016, at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage.

Born on December 7, 1955, in Portage, the daughter of Maurice and Nadine (Bugbee) Shaw, the Lord has decided to cross Denise over where she can be with family, friends, and beloved past pets. Denise has left many people that she loved and they gave love in return. She loved all animals and had many in her life, including her cats and dogs and pet squirrel, Rocky. She even fed all the strays. She never turned a hungry stomach away.

Denise attended Catholic School and was a member of the Catholic Church. She graduated from MATC in Police Science and worked as a matron for one year at the Sherriff’s Department. She raised her son by herself and he was the love of her life. She loved Facebook and her classmates, and was a volunteer at Poynette Head Start. Denise worked at Ray O Vac, Jenkins Transport, Portage City Cabs, and REM—taking care of people and she loved them all. She loved to cook, fish, ride around with her animals, coffee clutch, dance and swim. She loved her close friends—Paffords, Beavens, Saurs, Lov and Jerry, Loretta and Kluenders, Lauterbachs, Simy, nieces, nephews and their children, Bob and Dixie, and fuzzy friends.

She is survived by her son, Shannon Shaw of Endeavor; brother Robert and Dixie Shaw and children of Madison, her soul mate and best friend Randy Weishoff and Helen of Oxford and the Lochner family of Portage. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Marshall and Loretta Shaw, Robert Weishoff, Grandpa Lochner, Mary, Cat, Francis, Hawk and Lorraine Shaw.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her son or the Columbia County Humane Society in her name.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Inurnment will be private at St. Mary Cemetery in Portage.
