Ruth M. Schultz

PORTAGE – Ruth M. Schultz of Portage, passed away on October 10, 2017, two months shy of her 96th birthday.

One of six children, Ruth was born in Westfield in 1921.  She married Arlo C. Schultz in 1946.  During her working years, she held a number of jobs including at the City of Portage Water and Police Departments.  In later years, she enjoyed volunteering with missions that were close to her heart.

Ruth is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Kathleen) Schultz of West Allis;  grandchildren, Jerrold (Rebecca) Schultz of New Berlin and Vikki Schaal of Madison;  great-grandchildren, Samantha, Matthew and Meghan Schultz, and Cadence, Nathaniel and Norah Schaal.  She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia Pohl of Greendale and other relatives, neighbors and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988 and all of her siblings.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, with a memorial service at noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Portage Food Pantry or St. John’s Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
