Joyce Froehlich Finkenstein

Joyce Froehlich Finkenstein passed away on June 27, 2017, after an illness of lung and bone cancer, at her home in Clermont, Florida, with her husband by her side.

Joyce was born on January 6, 1950, in Beaver Dam, WI, the daughter of Loren and Marjorie (Lindert) Froehlich.  She graduated from Cambria High School in 1967, University of Wisconsin – Platteville in 1971, and attended University of Florida South School in 1980.  Joyce served six years in the United States Army Reserves.  She was united in marriage to Alex Finkenstein on September 13, 1975 at First Lutheran Church in New Port Richey, Florida.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 42 years, Alex Jr.;  two sisters, Kay Selbach of Portage and Sandee (David) McMahon of Wisconsin Dells;  two grandsons and one great-grandson of Florida;  two nephews, Tod Froehlich and Patrick McMahon; cousins, and many friends throughout the United States.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Alex Sr. and Lydia Finkenstein, and a brother-in-law, Gus Selbach.  

A Celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at Portage United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Tom Countryman officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Cambria Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Portage United Methodist Church.
