Jane A. Gilbertson

FORT WINNEBAGO TOWNSHIP – Jane A. Gilbertson, age 70, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at her home in Fort Winnebago Township, surrounded by her loving family.

Jane was born on February 20, 1947, in Portage, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Gage) Henderson. After high school graduation in 1965, she worked for the State of Wisconsin, and then for Amcore Bank in Portage for several years. She married David Kotula in 1969 and he preceded her in death in 1975. She then married Al Gilbertson on May 20, 1978. Jane was a member of the VFW Auxiliary where she kept the books, the Portage Presbyterian Church, and the Columbia County Humane Society.

She is survived by her father, Harold Henderson of Portage; husband, Al Gilbertson of Fort Winnebago Township; daughter, Randi (Thad) Biech of North Freedom; step-children, Jeff (Angie) Gilbertson of Montello, Julie Ostmann of Pardeeville; siblings, twin sister, Jean (Scott) Oren of Portage, Susan (Larry) Goodman of Portage; sister-in-law, Carol Henderson of Portage; grandson, Mason Biech; step-grandchildren, Jacob Gilbertson, Josey Gilbertson, Miranda Dehn, Haley Ostmann, Erin Friend; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy (Gage) Henderson; brother, Stephen Henderson; and her late husband, David Kotula.  
Per Jane’s request, services will be private.

If desired, memorials may be made to the Columbia County Humane Society.
