Peter P. Hayes

PORTAGE – Peter P. Hayes (Sanny Klaus), age 59, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017, surrounded by his loving family, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Peter was born on December 3, 1958, in Portage, the son of Philip and Susan (Wohlwend) Hayes.  He lived in Portage all his life.  Peter married Debbie Brue on January 9, 1982.   

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Hayes; his children, Michael Hayes, Jessica (Matthew) Meier, Jennifer (Craig), Emily (CJ), and Philip Hayes; his grandchildren, Donavyn, Gabryella, Brodey, Brayden, Shaylyn, Mackenzye and Madyson; his mother, Susan Hayes; his brothers, Don (Barb) Hayes, Philip (Tammy) Hayes, and Tom Hayes; his best friend, Kevin, other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, his brother, Kenneth, and his In-laws.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Briggsville, with Fr. Gary Krahenbuhl presiding. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Briggsville.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday at the church.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.    

The family would like to thank all the people who have helped him through his battle with cancer.
