Gladys Erline Leonard

WESTFIELD – Gladys Erline Leonard, age 101, passed away peacefully at Harris Villa in Westfield on Friday, December 29, 2017.

Gladys was born on March 14, 1916, in Virginia, the daughter of John and Minnie (Wolfe) Engle. She graduated high school in Loyal, Kentucky, where she played basketball and earned many medals in track.  She married Harold Leonard in August, 1944 in Mobile, Alabama.  Gladys was a homemaker and was an avid amateur artist.

Gladys is survived by her children, Sue (Dan) Spaight of Oxford, James (Pam) Leonard of Florida; grandchildren, Mark Neville, John Spaight, Amanda, Dalton and Lindsay; great-granddaughter, Hailey; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Minnie Engle, and brothers, Fred, Neal, Herman, Harry and Clyde Engle.  

No services are planned at this time.

The family would like to thank the staff at Harris Villa in Westfield for their loving care and support.  The family would also like to thank the staff of Agnesian Hospice for their care and visits.
