Barbara Ann Phelps

PARDEEVILLE/PORTAGE – Barbara Ann Phelps, age 70, of Pardeeville/Portage, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.

Barbara was born on August 30, 1946 in Portage, the only daughter of Kenneth and Helen (Sharman) Phelps.  She lived at Spring Place group home in Pardeeville and was employed at the Northwoods workshop in Portage.  Barbara was a member of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Portage and belonged to the ARC of Columbia County Adult Social Club.  Barbara had a love for babies, enjoying patting them gently on the cheek.    

She is survived by her mother, Helen Phelps of Portage; her guardian, who is like a sister, Carol Colson and her husband Roger Colson; her cousins; her housemates, Carly and Sandy, close friends at Northwoods, as well as other friends. She was preceded in death by her father, and her aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Portage, with Fr. Dave Mowers officiating. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, the ARC of Columbia County, or Northwoods, Inc.

The family would like to thank the staff at Spring Place for their care and love, Home Health United Hospice for their support, and Dr. Krumpos for the many years caring for Barb.
