Dorothy  M. “Dodie” Pitman

MARCELLON TOWNSHIP – Dorothy  M. “Dodie” Pitman, age 90, of Marcellon Township, passed away peacefully at her home on August 9, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones.

Dorothy was born on February 10, 1927, in Buffalo Township, the daughter of George and Doris (Wilson) Atkinson. She married Robert Brewer who preceded her in death and then married George Pitman, Sr., who also preceded her in death. Dorothy worked for many years at Ray O Vac. She enjoyed bowling crocheting, camping and playing cards. She also loved hummingbirds.  

She is survived by her children, George (Mary) Pitman, Jr., of Greendale, Judy Preston of Portage, Dawn (Lonnie) Sines of Portage, Jody (Kent) Brown of Portage, Laura (Mike) Hayes of Montello; special nephews, Mike (Tina) Potter of Fond du Lac, Steven (Ann) Potter of Indiana; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Deanna; and sister, Edith Potter.

Private inurnment will take place at a later date at the Pitman Cemetery on County EE.

Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

Thank you, Judy, for everything that you did. You were mom's rock, right up until the end.
