Donna J. Portzen

PORTAGE – Donna J. Portzen, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Portage, in the presence of her loving family, on Sunday, December 17, 2017.

Donna was born on December 28, 1935, in Pardeeville. She graduated from Pardeeville High School. Donna married Robert “Bob” Portzen on July 2, 1955, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Portage. She worked at the Red Goose Shoe Store in Portage for many years. Donna had a tremendous amount of love for her family. She was an active member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Portage.

She is survived by her children, Julie (Rick) Krueger, Wisconsin Rapids, Susan (Donald) Hon, Pardeeville; grandchildren, Jamie (Israel) Stolze, Florida, Jacob (Kendall) Krueger, Nevada, Nicholas (Lydia) Portzen, Verona, Ashley Portzen, Stevens Point, Nicole (Tony) Walker, Pardeeville, Jason (Jessica) Hon, Pardeeville; great-grandchildren, Landen Portzen, Evelyn Greipentrog, Gaven and Garrett Stolze, Ashlynn and Oliver Walker, Ella and Brooklyn Hon; an expected great-grandchild in February; other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Krueger Sanders; husband, Bob Portzen; son, Mark Portzen; and her sister-in-law, Anna Mae Brue.   

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at 2:30 p.m., at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 585 E. Slifer, Portage, with the Rev. Scott Schultz officiating. Burial will follow at Marcellon Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
