Lois E. Bescup

PORTAGE – Lois E. Bescup, age 90, of Portage, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Tivoli, in Portage.

Lois was born on October 7, 1928 in Briggsville, the youngest child of Joseph and Edith Gay.  On November 22, 1947, she married William Bescup.  Lois worked for the Portage Water Department for over 20 years.   

Survivors include her son Michael’s children, Todd (Elaine) Bescup and Chad Bescup; her daughter, Brenda (Dennis) Adler and their children, Adam (Rachel) Graap and Sara Graap (Kayla Conrad), Leah Adler, Austin (Teresa) Adler, and Carson (Avelene) Adler; her son, Robert (Jane) Bescup and their children, John (Sheila) Bescup and Matthew (Olivia Arnold) Bescup; her son, James (Stacy Heath) Bescup and their children, Jessica (David) Williams, Jacob (Melissa Boyd) Bescup and Joseph (Ciera Priest) Bescup; and her daughter, Angela Gray and her son Mitchell Gray; 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She shared a special friendship with her son Michael’s fiance’ Penny Scherf.  Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William in 1991, her son, Michael in 2005, her grandson, Joel, her great-granddaughter, Lindsay, and her siblings, Leslie, Elizabeth, Raymond, James and Wilmer. 

Respecting Mom’s wishes, services will be private.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in Lois’ memory.
