Frank L. Bottoni

PORTAGE – Frank L. Bottoni, age 93, of Portage, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday, October 25, 2019, at Tivoli in Portage.

Frank was born in Milwaukee on March 29, 1926 to Frank and Arabella (Seims) Bottoni.  He served his country in the Army during World War II, and spent 40 years on the Milwaukee Road and Canadian Pacific, retiring in 1987.  Frank married Maealine Mauthe in 1980 and they combined their families of children.  They have 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his wife, Maealine Bottoni; his children:

Robert Bottoni and his daughter, Jennifer.

James Bottoni (deceased), his wife, Karen, and their son, Christopher (Tammy) Bottoni and their sons, Preston, Pierce and Hudson, son Jeffery (Tiffany) Bottoni and their son, Nolan.

Michael (Sue) Bottoni and their son, Matthew (Laura) Bottoni and their daughters Amber and Haley.

Carol (Kelly) Greenwood and their children, John Krebs and Erin Krebs and her daughter, Jasmine.

Patricia (Randy) Church and their son, Mark (Fran) Gimla and their children, Sophia and Jacob, daughter, Becky (Mike) Rudi and their sons, Ashten, Jack and twins, Colton and Sophia, and twin sons, Tracy and Wesly McMasters.

Jerry Bottoni and his daughter, Amanda, son, Jordan, daughter, Priscilla and her sons, Caden and Nolan, son, Dominic (fiance’ Jennifer) Bottoni.

Karen (Debbie Mandigo) Bottoni.

Susan Hoisington and her sons, Anthony Bottoni (deceased) and Tim Hoisington.

Cathy (Craig) Ott and their son, Cory (fiance’ Kaycee Prevedel).

Step-son, Stuart Mauthe and his son, James Mauthe.

Step-daughter, Nancy (Dan) Dotson and their daughters Heather, Jennifer and Bethany.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Annabelle Heise, his son, James Bottoni, and his grandson, Anthony Bottoni.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, with Pastor Jeremy Edmondson, Pastor Steve Corbett and Chuck Ness officiating. Inurnment, with military honors, will be held and announced at a later date in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Union Grove. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage with an Elk’s BPOE Lodge #675 commemoration held at 5:00 p.m., visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in Frank’s memory.
