Betty M. Chapman

PARDEEVILLE—Betty M. Chapman, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Remington House in Pardeeville.

Betty was born on March 31, 1928, in Brooks, the daughter of Harold and Cecil (Beals) Graskamp.  She married Blake Chapman on June 21, 1947.   She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage. 

Betty is survived by her children, Craig (Janis) Chapman, of Pardeeville and Shelley (Larry) Rietmann, of Caledonia Township;  her grandchildren, Janis (Kurt) Schlieckau, April (Justin) Vondra, Chad (Kristine) Winklepleck and Janelle (Clayton) Broesch;  her great-grandchildren, Carly and Jardon Schlieckau, Alex, Paige, Livy, and Kye Vondra, Forest and Logan Winklepleck, Dawson and Hannah Corning;  her siblings, Hollis (Lilas) Elliott of Oxford, Edna Mae Taft, of Oxford and Beverly Jane Fry of Milton;  other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Blake Chapman, her sisters, Lorrain Ann Premo and Valerie Jean Anderson. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage, with Rev. Rod Armon officiating.  Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday in Silver Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.  

The family would like to thank Remington House for their wonderful care and devotion, and Heartland Hospice for the care they gave Betty.
