Conrad A. Dreyer

ITASCA, IL/SUN PRAIRIE – Conrad A. Dreyer, age 94, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Alden Estates in Jefferson, Wisconsin.

Conrad was born on February 6, 1925, in Chicago, the son of Ernest and Wilhelmina (Janssen) Dreyer.  He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater.  Conrad went on the Badger Honor Flight to Washington, DC in 2016.  He graduated from Crane Tech and attended Wright Community College.  Conrad married Beatrice Field on February 20, 1954, in Elmwood Park, Illinois.  He worked for Allstate Insurance Company for 35 years as a Programmer/System Analyst.  Conrad enjoyed restoring and Model A cars, sports cars and trucks.  He was a member of Bethany Methodist Church in Itasca, Illinois and Lions Interntional.     

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Dreyer, of Sun Prairie; his sons, Conrad (Deb) Dreyer, of Marshall, Christopher (Susan) Dreyer, of Portage, Daniel Dreyer, of Rolling Meadows, Illinois and Eric (Michelle) Dreyer, of Winnebago, Illinois; 3 grandchildren, Brianne (Andy) Manthe, Colin Dreyer and Georgia Dreyer; 1 great-grandson, Remington Manthe.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other near relatives and many dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Ernest and William Dreyer and 1 sister, Elsie Weir. 

Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at New Perspectives Senior Living, Harbor Lights Chapel (4th floor), 222 S. Bristol St., Sun Prairie, WI 53901, with Rev. Tom Countryman officiating.  Inurnment will be private.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the chapel.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be given to a charity or organization of the donor’s choice in Conrad’s honor.
