Kevin Jon “Cooter” Falk

POYNETTE – Kevin Jon “Cooter” Falk, age 41, of Poynette, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at his home.

Kevin was born on March 1, 1978, in Portage, WI.  Kevin attended school at Poynette, and wished he had an owner’s manual on trucks and tractors, which could replace learning Romeo & Juliet for English class. He learned many things about farming from neighbors like Marcus Lenius, Jim Attoe and Harland Kutz.  Kevin enjoyed driving semi and all other big construction equipment, and spraying fields for F.S.  He also enjoyed hunting, tractor – truck pulls, shooting pool, and country music.  He was happy to party with Dirks Bentley on his tour bus, and loved the Brewers and the Badgers, but was not big on Green cheese and Crackers (The Packers).  Kevin had a way to help defuse a bar fight, because he said, “He didn’t want to help clean up a mess or worse yet, have his pretty face messed up!”  He received his nickname, Cooter, from Chief Tomlinson after joining the Poynette/Dekorra Fire Dept., when he saw how well Kevin could handle equipment.

He is survived by his mother, Kathy (Darrell) Meister;  his son, Cody Falk;  siblings, Jamie Falk, Jodi Falk Cook (Dave Burns), Cheryl (Jeremy) Walters, and Carol Meister;  other near relatives and many close friends.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Falk, and his grandparents, Merle and Anna Mae McQueen and Charles and Delores Falk.  

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Hillside Cemetery in Poynette.   Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2019, at the Poynette/Dekorra Fire Station in Poynette.  The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Poynette/Dekorra or Arlington Fire Department, or a charity of your choice.
