Steven F. Greenwold

BARABOO – Steven F. Greenwold, age 68, of Baraboo, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019 at his home in Baraboo.

Steven was born on June 21, 1950 in Portage, the son of Frank and Eleanor (Paske) Greenwold.  He graduated from Portage High School in 1968.  Steven served in United States Army and did a tour of duty in Vietnam. He had been employed as a Construction Detailer with General Telephone Company for 38 years.  Steven was an avid golfer and enjoyed golf dates with his “crew” at various courses in the area. He loved the water and spent many hours boating, fishing and snorkeling.  His artistic side was evident in the beautiful stained glass pieces he created.

He is survived by his children, Stephanie (Todd) Gunderson, of Wisconsin Dells, and Brian (Kim) Greenwold, of Portage; his grandson, Peyton Greenwold, of Portage; former spouse, Vickie Greenwold, his brothers, Larry (Ellen) Greenwold, of Oregon, WI and Mike (Lori) Greenwold, of Madison; Patty (Bob) Bryan and Wendy (Tom) Pink, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Steven was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary Greenwold. 

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at NorthShore Restaurant at the Portage Country Club. Inurnment will be held at a later date in St Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.

The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
