Janet E. Gustin

PORTAGE – Janet E. Gustin, age 76, of Portage, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones.

Janet was born on December 12, 1942 in Poynette, the daughter of Lloyd and Wilhelmina (Wolff) Bilkey. She had worked for the Owls Nest Cheese Co., and cleaned for a variety of businesses including the Jamieson House and the Poynette State Game Farm.  Janet enjoyed bus trips to bingo at Ho-Chunk, and organizing these events for her apartment complex.

She is survived by her children, Pamela Blackburn, Deborah Blackburn, Gorden (Cindy) Blackburn, Gary Edgar, Brett Sagen, and Lorie Krueger; her brother, Earl (Florence) Bilkey; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Betty Lou Knuteson in 2011, an infant sister, her daughter, Diane Julia Gustin in 2002, and her recently deceased longtime boyfriend, Robert Tracy.  

A Celebration of Life will be held at from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette.  Inurnment will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for future considerations.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Rivers CBRF and Agrace Hospice for their care and support.
