Carol L. Matson

DEFOREST – Carol L. Matson, age 85, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, surrounded by her loving family. 

Carol was born on February 28, 1934, in Black River Falls, the daughter of Fred and Adeline (Schnick) Dolesy.  She married Erven Matson on September 10, 1952 in Merrilan.     

She is survived by her daughter, Vickie (fiance’ Milo Chamberlain) Stoikes, of Sun Prairie; her sons, Lee Matson and Todd (Robin) Matson; her grandchildren, Connie (Troy) Hauge, Brenda (Brian) Roughman, Billy (Krystal) Stoikes, Mandy (Jesse) Chambers and John Matson,  five great-grandchildren, two “special grandchildren”, Dan and Mark Hoverson; her sisters, Eva Baker and Phyllis Relyea; her brother, Fred (Donna) Dolesy, other relatives and many friends.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Erven and her sons, Steven and Joel and her brothers and sister.     

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls.  Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Poynette.
