Marjorie I. Wagner

PORTAGE  -- Marjorie I. Wagner, age 81, of Portage, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Divine Savior Extended Care.

Marjorie was born on July 5, 1928 in LaCrosse, the daughter of Adolph and Frances (Saeger) Olson.  On November 18, 1950 she was married to William Wagner.  Marjorie had been a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Portage since 1953, where she had been a member of the church choir.  She also was the secretary / treasurer for the Sunday School dept. for many years.  Marjorie volunteered for Meals on Wheels and as an election worker for many years.  She had been a member of the Winnebago Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club and the Portage Curling Club, and she loved to crochet. 

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William, Portage; her children, Ronald (Kari) Wagner, Portage, Barbara (Ron) Paske, Portage, Vickie (Jeff) Rzepiejewski, Portage, Richard (Tammy) Wagner, Endeavor and David (Janice) Wagner, Elroy;  16 grandchildren;  6 great-grandchildren;  a brother, Gerald Olson, Portage;  other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Kenneth, and her sister-in-law, Donna Olson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Portage.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
