Adelaide Meyers

PORTAGE  --  Adelaide Meyers, age 99, of Portage, died on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Divine Savior Healthcare Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage, with the Rev. Daniel Kelm officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.

Adelaide was born on January 7, 1911, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Turner) Luebke.  She served at Divine Savior Nursing Home in Portage as Dietician for many years, and had owned and operated several restaurants in Milwaukee and the Portage area.  Her greatest joy was cooking.  Adelaide was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Portage.

Adelaide is survived by three daughters, Beverly (Melvin) Bejma, Franklin, TN, Barbara Brady, Waunakee, and Marilyn (Richard) Ferguson, Portage;  her brother, Roy Luebke, Milwaukee;  seven grand children;  thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren;  other near relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Albert Meyers, nine brothers and sisters, and her son-in-law, Richard Leo Brady.
