Helen M. Olson

PORTAGE –  Helen M. Olson, age 88, passed away, on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Tivoli, in Portage, surrounded by her family.

Helen was born on February 24, 1927 in Wisconsin, the daughter of Emil and Mary (Rada) Muzatko.  She married Harold Olson in 1947 at East Side Evangelical Lutheran Church in Madison. He preceded her in death in 1995.  Helen was employed as a nurse for many years. 

Helen is survived by her children, Dianne (James) Degner, Vickie (Dean) Hillestad, both of Florida, LuAnn Olson, Duane (Kelly) Olson, of Idaho, Dean (Janet) Olson, and Dale Olson; her son-in-law, Gregory Falk; Kris Young; 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; her sister, Lillian Wiese, her brothers, Edward Muzatko, and Stanley (Marge) Muzatko, other relatives and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold, her daughter, Ellen Falk, her son, David Olson, her brother, Joseph Muzatko, and her sister, Alice Ross. 

Memorial services will be private. Private inurnment will be in Rocky Run Cemetery.

With her enjoyment of reading, especially to children, the family requests that memorials be made to Wisconsin Bookworms™, or the Poynette Public Library.
