Julia Ann “Queenie” Zelmanski

MADISON / POYNETTE – Julia Ann “Queenie” Zelmanski, age 67, passed away comfortably on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Ohana House Senior Living in Poynette.

Queenie was born on February 27, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, to Raymond and Aldona (Toloczko) Zelmanski. She also resided in California, Arkansas, Texas and her final home was here in Wisconsin to be near her family. A social person, she befriended too many to list. With a big heart, she strove to always help people. Queenie treasured spending time with her family, loved dogs and enjoyed reading. She lived a simple life, yet it was full and adventurous.

She is survived by “her child”--dog Cholie; sisters, Maryann and Marsha Ann (Marshall) Begel and her niece and nephews, Brie Ann (Jimmy) and Drew Arthur, Buck and Lucas; other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David; twin brother, Robert; and niece, Leslie Frances.   

Graveside inurnment services will be held at Hartwell Cemetery in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, at 3:00 p.m. on July 17, 2017.

Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage and Haase Lockwood Funeral Home in Elkhorn are assisting the family.
