Randolph H. Dimond

PORTAGE - Randolph H. Dimond, 89, of Portage died Saturday, February 24th, 2024, at SSM Hospice House in Baraboo.

Randy was born October 24, 1934, in Madison, the son of Edmond and Mabel Deering Dimond.
He was married on December 16, 1960 to Gail Martiny in Waukegan, Illinois. Randy worked many jobs throughout his life.  His early beginning at a flower shop and Steins created his love for orchids.  He served his country as a Marine and received a degree from MSOE in drafting engineering. He worked at Flambeau for several years and retired from PCM.

He is survived by his four daughters, Debra Dimond of Wyocena, Christine Dimond (Steven Uselmann) of New Berlin, Sandra Dimond of Sun Prairie and Cindy Lytle (Philip) of Poynette; his grandchildren, Joshua, Katrina and Rusty (Tabitha) Dimond, Taylor and Carly Uselmann, and Riley (Shelby) and Emmalou Lytle; and his four great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Gail; son Randy; grandson Elway; parents; and siblings.

If he emptied out his pockets, you could find something from any one of his hobbies: a shell, rock, puzzle piece, train or stamp.  We hope he is sitting on a shell pile on the beach somewhere with sand in his shorts and a shark tooth in his hand.

Private family services will be held. The Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.
