Cecily C. Hickethier WYOCENA – Cecily C. Hickethier, 85, formerly of Portage, passed away peacefully at Columbia County Health Care Center on Friday, June 15, 2018. Cecily was born on September 3, 1932, in Unity, Wisconsin, the daughter of Fred and Lillian (Fuller) Copet. She graduated from Portage High School. Cecily married Elmer Hickethier in Portage on January 5, 1952. She was a devoted mother who loved gardening, cooking and sewing. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Rick) Maass, Donna (Lenard) Purves, Jean (Randall) Hinze, Rita (Scott) Maass, June (Allen) Fredrick, Lori (John Jr.) Myhre, all of Portage; nine grandchildren, Scott (Erin) Purves, Ashley Hinze (Austin Hillebrandt), Hannah (Dr. Mitchell) Seubert, Russell (Kristin) Maass, Rikki (Jason) Simonson, Michael (AnnE) Fredrick, Daniel (Megan) Fredrick, Eric (Gabe) Pollitt, Elizabeth (Will) Kutina; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 expected great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Mildred “Mickey” Copet. She is further survived by other relatives and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; sisters, Lila, Agnes, Dolly; brothers, John and Bud. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Portage United Methodist Church.
