Dennis Manning Kamrath PORTAGE -- Dennis Manning Kamrath, age 65, of Portage, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Remington House in Pardeeville. He was born on March 28, 1944 in Portage the son of the late Eugene and Irene (McMahon) Kamrath. He graduated from Portage High School in 1962. He married Veronica Huber on February 2, 1963. Dennis worked for Milwaukee Rail Road (Canadian Pacific) for 31 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a passion for making custom fishing rods and baits. At home he enjoyed cooking for family and friends. He belonged to U.T.U. (United Transportation Union), was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a Boy Scout Pack Leader for the Webelos. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Veronica; his son, Mark (Amy) Kamrath, Viroqua and their children, Amber, Tyler, Caitlyn and Bryanna Kamrath; his daughter, Jeanette Meade, Merrimac, and her children, Dustin Schultz and Derek Wyman; other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Buzz, Mark, and Chaz Meade, Alissa (Dave) Zimmerman, Selena (Mike) Landolt, Madison and Carly Zimmerman, Lucy and Lillian Landolt; brother, Lawrence (Carol) Kamrath, Peoria, Illinois; sister, Sharon (Jack) Richter, Pardeeville,; and many nieces, nephews, other near relatives and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Linda Huber. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, Fr. Jim Murphy presiding. Inurnment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage.
