Joyce E. Schrab

PORTAGE – Joyce E. Schrab, age 92, passed away with family by her side on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at American Way/Northview Gardens in Portage.

Joyce was born on March 28, 1924, to Earl and Florence (Port) Sanders. She worked for Divine Savior Hospital for many years. Joyce loved gardening and flowers.

She is survived by her children, Judy Achterberg of Packwaukee, Wayne Achterberg of Mellon, WI, Fred Achterberg of Pardeeville; sister, Phyllis Greenwood of Florida; many grandchildren and great- grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Sanders; mother, Florence Koptlin; step-father, Alonzo Koptlin; husbands, Clifford Achterberg and Donald Schrab; daughter, Sandra Timme; grandson, Cris Thompson; and sisters, Jackie and Dorothy.  

Funeral services will be held at Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

The family would like to thank the staff at American Way and Agrace Hospice for their care and support.
