Brad Curtis Zimmerman

BARABOO – Brad Curtis Zimmerman, age 36, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 13, 2017, at UW Hospital in Madison, WI, after a protracted battle with an infection and Leukemia.

Brad was born on April 1, 1980, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, to Curtis Zimmerman of McFarland, WI, and Mary Snyder Tart (Ronald) of Elizabethtown, NC. He grew up in a large, loving family with his sister Brittney (Ricky) Woodell of Elizabethtown, NC, many cousins, aunts and uncles.

God gifted us with this amazing man. He has been a joy and strength to us and anyone who had the opportunity to meet him. He survived Leukemia at the age of 4 with chemo and radiation. At the age of 25, Brad was burned over 80% of his body with 3rd degree burns on his legs. He survived and continued on his journey only to have Leukemia and infection take him. He was a strong, amazing, awesome and faithful man. He loved God, Packers, Badgers, Brewers, children, and dogs, especially English bulldogs.

Brad is survived by his parents and sister as well as his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Zimmerman of Baraboo, WI; step-brother, Brian Tart (Heather) of Elizabethtown, NC; nieces and nephews, Samantha, Jesse and Eli Woodell and Max Tart; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.

Inurnment will be private at Tatum-Grimes Cemetery in Elizabethtown, NC, held at a later date.
