Allan L. Zook PARDEEVILLE - Allan L. Zook, age 82, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Hamilton Park Place in Portage, surrounded by his loving family. Allan was born on May 3, 1935, in Chicago, IL, the son of Max and Annette (Lawrence) Zook. He married Sonia Roecker on July 24, 1954, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Portage. For many years in the 60s, Al operated the Clark Gas Station and then The Consolidated Station. He then went on to become a police lieutenant for the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department. Al loved spending time with his family and Blackie, his cat. He enjoyed traveling around the country and world, working in his garden, and fixing things around the house. He enjoyed making and concocting different flavors of wine from the grapes and other fruit that he grew. He is survived by his wife, Sonia Zook; children, Barbara (Charles) Stanley, Allan (Cindy) Zook; grandchildren, Trina (Brian) Schultz, Nathan Simonson, Kelley (Devin) Bresser, Cassandra (Dustin) Sparks and Emma Zook; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Spencer and Keira Schultz, Mitchel, Nathanel and Jessalyn Simonson; sister-in-law, Sue (John) Hamel; niece, Vickie (Scott) Bublitz; grandnieces, Meghan, Molly and Melissa Bublitz; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Scott Zook; both parents; step-mother, Clara; brother, Richard; and parents-in law, Arthur and Francis Roecker. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Portage. The family would like to thank the staff at Hamilton Park Place and Agrace HospiceCare for their care and support.
