Della Louise Dumke (née Scherbert)

PORTAGE – Della Louise Dumke (née Scherbert), age 96, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital, surrounded by her children.

Della was born on March 12, 1929, in Portage, Wisconsin, the daughter of Richard and Frieda (Kent) Scherbert. She married Clayton Raymond Dumke on February 11, 1950, in Portage. She loved to play golf, collect owl figurines, play Bridge, make teddy bears, knit afghans, collect Beanie Babies, and play Skipbo. Della was a terrific cook and enjoyed canning tomatoes from her garden and making jelly from the apples and plums from the trees in her back yard. Della and Clayton raised their family of three children at Swan Lake outside of Portage. Upon Clayton’s passing in 2013, Della moved to Heritage House where she enjoyed Exercise class, Bingo, Bananagrams, Skipbo, and organizing the Activities Room.

Della is survived by her sons: Terrence Lee (Pam) Dumke, Portage; Timothy Raymond Dumke, Fremont, CA; and her daughter, Tami Lynne (Mike) Primeau, Folsom, CA. Her grandchildren are Travis (Tracy) Dumke, Tyler (Karen) Dumke, Casey (Konnor) DeLang, and Jack Primeau. Her great grandchildren are Jocelyn, Chase, and Berkley Dumke; Aiden, Bryce, and Carson Dumke; and Kiera DeLang.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her husband, Clayton.
