Julia Ann Ferguson

PORTAGE – Julia Ann Ferguson, age 69, of Portage, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Julia was born on November 20, 1955, in Portage, the daughter of Donald and Suzanne (Eulberg) Pafford, Sr. She attended St. Mary School, in Portage. Julia had worked for AMPI for 46 years. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and had volunteered at St. Mary’s for events and school outings. She married Richard Ferguson on March 26, 1993. Julia enjoyed crafting, loved her grandchildren, and spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Quinn.

She is survived by her husband, Richard “Rick”; their son, Kyle J. (Brittni) Ferguson; grandchildren, Piper Brussveen, Landon Ferguson, and Lincoln Ferguson; her brother, Donald J. (Dawne) Pafford, Jr.; three sisters, Susan E. (Ronald) Pafford Da Rosa, Jan M. (Dave Johnson) Pafford Hickey, and Mary B. Pafford; special friends, Cheryl Barton, Jody Brown, Janet Hartman, Judy Cawley, Mary Wilcox, and Jean Kuhn; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Suzanne.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Fr. Randy Timmerman presiding. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage, and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
