Jerrene "Jerry" Ann Gavinski

OXFORD – Jerrene Ann Gavinski, age 74, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Montello Care Center, in Montello.

Jerry was born on September 25, 1950, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, the daughter of Earl and Yvonne (Winter) Kutz. After graduating from Fort Atkinson High School, Jerry went to college for accounting in Madison. She then was a legal secretary and worked at the Jefferson County Courthouse. Jerry enjoyed bowling and got lots of “turkeys.” She also loved reading romance, crime, and mysteries, like James Patterson. She hunted, fished, and went on camping trips to Lawrence Lake. Jerry was also world class cook. She made a delicious bean dip and cooked homemade food from scratch. Christmas was her favorite time of year to make cutout cookies and spend time with her family and friends. In her spare time Jerry enjoyed puzzles, sudoku, and playing chess. She was good with numbers and always helped her family by doing their taxes.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Tony; children, Shahn, Cindy, and Jeanne (James Hauf) Gavinski; brother, Dale (Jacqueline) Kutz; sisters, Bonnie (Steven) Pauli, and Pat Zarnstorff; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Eric; and brother-in-law, James Zarnstorff.

Memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home, in Portage, with Dan Pulsfus officiating. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., on Friday, at the funeral home.
