Louise Marie (née Sauer) Lentz

OXFORD – Louise Marie Lentz (née Sauer) entered her heavenly home on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the age of 86.

Louise was born on August 18, 1939, to John and Johanna (Richey) Sauer, in Portage, WI, and baptized into God’s family on September 24, 1939. She married Orval William Lentz on May 30, 1959, in Portage. Together, they had five children and enjoyed their life as dairy farmers. Louise was also a deeply dedicated and active member of St. Mary’s Church, in Briggsville.

Louise cherished the peace and quiet countryside, where she loved feeding and watching her favorite birds. Her many hobbies included collecting recipes, cross-stitching, knitting, sewing, listening to music, and cake decorating. She looked forward to every family gathering and loved dancing with her favorite partner, Orval. She enjoyed farm life, with her favorite activity being driving a tractor. For many years, Louise served as the leader of the Oxford Record Makers 4-H Club, where she encouraged youth to serve and discover their own talents. She used her many talents to faithfully serve her church and family. She was a beautiful person, deeply loved, and will be greatly missed.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, John and Johanna Sauer.

Louise is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Orval; children, Brenda Serstad, Steve (Michele) Lentz, Sandy (Pete) Freitag, Teri (Brian) Frey, and Rita Houston; grandchildren, Aaron (Tracey) Serstad, Cody (Kelly) Serstad, Chad (Chelsey) Serstad, Tony (Morgan) Serstad, Sean (Erica) Serstad, Nicholas Lentz, Zach (Lega) Aisake-Lentz, Dylan Lentz, Austin Lentz, Branden Lentz, Jacob (Emily) Secor, Christel (Randy) Strutz, Mandy (Ben) Karas, Daniel (Adrienne) Frey, Emily (Levi) Schriefer, David (Mikayla) Frey, Grace Frey, Nicole (Austin) Simonpietri, Julia Houston, Joseph Houston, Daniel Houston, and; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Olivia, Alaina, Sterling, Harlow, Huxley, Norah, Sullivan, Theodore, Reagan, Kayley, Penina, Natalie, Ava, Lewis, Maxinne, and baby Karas.  She is further survived by siblings, Catherine Hryszko, John (Myra) Sauer, James (Barbara) Sauer, and Donald Sauer; brother-in-law, Richard Lentz; and sister-in-law, Gail Lentz; as well as many other dear relatives and friends.

There will be no funeral services at this time.
