

Boyd Dean Wolfgram
PARDEEVILLE – Boyd Dean Wolfgram, age 69, passed away unexpectedly, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at home. He fought a hard and courageous battle of stage 4 lung and brain cancer for 5 ½ years.
Boyd was born on September 21, 1956, to Darwin and Barbara (McDonald) Wolfgram in Portage. He grew up on the family farm. Boyd was a 1974 graduate of Portage Senior High and was a member of the Cross Country and Track teams. He was big into race horses, quarter horses, and thoroughbreds. After graduating he traveled to many different racetracks.
Boyd married Holly Briggs on February 7, 1987, in Portage and together they have one son.
Boyd was a concrete finisher and a heavy equipment operator. He eventually owned and operated Wolfgram Excavating and Snow Plowing LLC for the past 20+ years. He did a lot of digging for Hooper, in Madison, dug multiple basements for many different contractors, and dug a lot of graves for multiple cemeteries around this area.
He was a huge fan of the Packers and Badgers. He enjoyed Nascar Racing and Badger Midgets, as Darwin owned one for 10 years. He loved to fish and thoroughly enjoyed the annual summer family fishing trips up to the Northwoods and staying at Errington’s Resort – which they were able to do for the past 27 years.
Boyd is survived by his wife, Holly, of Pardeeville; son, Brody, of Madison; sister, Bobbi Kelley, of Clearwater, FL; brothers-in-laws, Dan Cummings, of Westfield and Marty (Kim) Briggs of Pardeeville; sisters-in-laws, Loha Kuhn, of Pardeeville, Kristi (Glenn) Schmitz, of Westfield, and Laurie Briggs, of Dalton; nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jody Cummings; brothers-in-laws, Ervin, James, and Gerry Briggs, Terry Kuhn, and Fred Werla, Sr.; and sister-in-law, Vicki Werla.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Pflanz Mendrala Funeral Home, in Portage, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank the UW Carbone Cancer Center, Dr. Toby Campbell, Dr. Andrew Baschnagel, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department, and the Portage Fire Rescue and EMS team for all of their wonderful care and support.In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the family.
